TheVerse respects your quiet.

The short version
- No accounts and no login.
- No ads and no tracking.
- Your favourites, volume levels, selected sound, speed and goals stay on your device.
- The app only connects to the internet to stream recitations, sounds and videos, and to download the Arabic text and font.
1. Who we are
TheVerse is made by Al Araf, Founder of Araf Studio (also known as Al Araf's Creation). Website: arafstudio.pages.dev.
2. What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. TheVerse does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts or any account details, and it has no advertising or analytics tools inside.
3. What stays on your device
These are saved locally on your phone so the app can remember them, and they are not sent to us:
- Your favourite surahs and playlists you opened
- Volume levels for the Quran and the background sound
- Your selected background sound and playback speed
- Your daily goal and listening progress shown in Insights
Clearing the app's data or uninstalling TheVerse removes them.
4. Internet use
To work, the app loads content over the internet: surah recitations, background sound loops and background videos from Araf Studio's cloud storage, and on first launch it downloads the Noto Kufi Arabic font and the Arabic Quran text so they can be used offline afterwards.
Like any internet request, this lets the servers that host the files see technical information such as your IP address and the file requested. We do not use it to identify you or build a profile about you.
5. Permissions
- Internet to stream recitations and download text and font.
- Notifications and media controls to show the player in the notification and lock screen.
- Background audio so recitation keeps playing with the screen off.
- Vibration for subtle haptic feedback on taps and sliders.
6. Third parties
- Quran text from the Tanzil Project, licensed CC BY 3.0.
- Fonts: Noto Kufi Arabic (in the app) and Playfair Display.
- This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives a standard font request from your browser. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
- The Android APK is hosted on GitHub Releases. GitHub's own privacy practices apply when you download from it.

TheVerse does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
